Private, encrypted backups to Google Drive.
Gurry Tools Backup is a personal, self-hosted utility used to safeguard financial planning records from the Gurry Tools application. It creates SQLite database backups on the owner's server and uses rclone to encrypt and upload backup copies into the owner's Google Drive account.
How it works
The owner explicitly authorizes Google Drive access using OAuth. The utility uploads encrypted backup files, verifies completed transfers, and retains a limited rolling set of recovery copies. It does not provide a public file upload or account-registration service.
Backup files are encrypted before upload. Only the owner with the required encryption configuration can decrypt them.
Google Drive permissions
The application requests the drive.file permission to create and manage files associated with its backup workflow. It does not intentionally read unrelated Google Drive documents, contacts, or email.
